PT99 CB BASE ANTENNA

I have had this antenna for about 3 weeks now. So far, not a single problem with this product! My setup goes like this, since I have no roof access I bought a MFJ fiberglass telescoping antenna stand for the backyard and mounted the PT99 no that, found a semi clear spot in the backyard That was the only hard part. Pushed the antenna up where the bottom feed coax was no less than 8 ft off the ground. Also running RG58 at 75 ft with two 1 foot sections of RG213U starting at the feed point.
Trick; where the RG58 starts I added a 6 ferrite beads and created a loop with one ferrite bead at the radio. This killed any common mode current problems from a long coax run.
SWR Ch-1 1.0 Ch 40 1.2 Ch 20 1.10
AM I'm getting out 10 to 15 miles
SSB I'm getting out skipping all most a thousand miles! On 10 to 12 volts, hard to do in California.
Bottom line is I would buy another PT99 if lighting hits this one!!!
Echo Bravo Whiskey 426.

PT99 Update on wind speed

After sending a request on wind speed rating from ProComm, Their reply was that depending on how rigid or flexible your mast is has a lot to do it's ability. They also said it is made to flex quite a bit so it does not break under pressure. And so that is why it is not listed in product info. They said if it does break out of warranty they will do their best to help. Thanks again Right Channel for your great service

EZ INSTALL

Purchased this antenna from Right Channel Radios and LOVE it ! ! Put it together and had up in less than an hour... Just checked the SWR's and it came in perfect at 1.3 on 20....1.0 on 1.... and 1.5 on 40... It just really doesn't get any better than that out of the box running 75' of coax from my radio to the antenna... Can't beat the price or the service from Right Channel Radios.... I even got free shipping and had it in my hands in 3 days after ordering it... I highly recommend Right Channel Radios..

PT99 so far so good.

Bought this a few weeks ago. Found it to be smaller in diameter than expected. Assembly was easy and threads fit well. Used dielectric grease on threads and used silicone sealant after assembled. Applied some flat camo brown paint to protect fiberglass from sun, and to blend in with trees. SWR's flat on 40 and 1;2 on1 0n 11 meters (CB). Waiting for winds with fingers crossed. Will update in future. P.S. Product info should have a wind speed rating. Thanks Right channel for being prompt with your service!!!
