Up there in the specs it say 20-30 miles but daily I'm making contacts all over the USA from Panama canal zone with a 40-50 watt President Richard radio
I can imagine what it does when I get my big box inline I'm waiting for a driver to run into my big box then I'm hitting it with 4.5 to 5 KW
Just today I made a contact in Hawaii from Panama central America Ive talked all over the US on it, it takes lots of patience to get it tuned out to a low SWR I got it to a 1.03 on ch 20 using A brand new Rig Expert AA-35 if your in this hobby its a must have tool no guessing games with SWR meters Im on 100ft of high quality Mil Spec RG 213 coax right now I have A MFJ 826 B inline also but i'm on a barefoot radio A testament to the power of this antenna and it has awesome receive guys are asking me "What antenna are you on" I replaced my old A-99 with this V-5000 I 100% recommend this antenna but it takes patience to tune it out Station #435 "Uncle Quack" Panama central America.
Great antanta it's lite weight mine is on the top of a 30ft tower and preforming wonderfully, not sure at what height is recommended for it but 30ft works for me.
I have it on 25' of mast. I didn't even tune it, just put it together according to the instructions and make DX contacts with ease.
