This no-ground kit is ideal for RV, motorhome and camper installations where a low-profile antenna is desired. Designed to perform when installed on non-metallic surfaces such as fiberglass, this kit stands only 27" off the mount surface for a clean and non-obtrusive installation. Includes a roof mount, an antenna spring, a no-ground antenna and 17' of coax cable. Built in the USA and designed to last, all mounting hardware is weather- and rust-resistant.

Model / SKU:Firestik FG2-DD
Recommended for:RVs, motorhomes and trailers lacking a metallic chassis. A large metallic chassis (i.e., ground plane) is necessary for standard CB equipment to work properly. However, the no-ground equipment in this kit is specially engineered to work when installed on fiberglass, wood and other non-metal surfaces. For more information on installing NGP systems, please see these NGP Installation Tips.
Notable Features:USA-Made Components, Stainless Steel Mounting Hardware, Easily Tunable FS Antenna, 5-Year Antenna Warranty
Compatible with:
Virtually all CB radios. The roof mount can be mounted on any surface with access from below, as the roof is sandwiched between the two mount plates, and the coax is connected from below.

No-Ground Plane Firestik CB Antenna Mounting Kit: These rooftop NGP mounting kits are designed for mounting on a flat horizontal surface. They're the ideal choice for motorhome roofs, the deck of a boat, the roof of a pick-up camper or cap, the trunk deck of a Corvette, or the roof of a fiberglass or aluminum 18-wheeler tractor. The installed height above roofline, including the spring and CB antenna, is just less than 29 inches (737mm). If you purchase this kit, please make sure to read the important NGP installation information posted here.

ANTENNA: The CB antennas used in these kits utilize the same 5/8 wave design as the patented Firestik FS tunable tip antennas. The antenna's frequency is altered in order to maintain a desirable center band position when used with the tuned coaxial feedline. Accordingly, these antennas may only be used with the Firestik NGP cable. The core material is a 3/8-inch (0.375" or 10mm) diameter reinforced plastic (fiberglass). The antenna in these kits has our patented "no tools required" tunable tip for fast and easy SWR adjustments. The rated wattage for these kits is 100 watts.

COAXIAL FEEDLINE: The kit's 17' (5.2 M) coaxial cable is of the highest quality. The NGP cable assembly that comes with this kit utilizes a custom-manufactured coaxial cable available only through Firestik. Unable to find the performance characteristics in any of the commercially available coaxial cable, Firestik designed its own. This NGP cable can only be directly attached to Firestik NGP antennas. If a longer cable length is required, the user may add standard RG-58 A/U cable between the radio and NGP cable, preferably in lengths that are multiples of nine feet. Because it is a tuned circuit, the length cannot be reduced without causing non-repairable damage. Should the cable become damaged, order replacement cable model K-8NGP.

MOUNT, SPRING AND HARDWARE: To complement the quality of the antenna and feedline, the exposed outer mounting disk is made of stainless steel and includes a rubber sealing gasket. A stainless steel spring with machined brass ends acts as the coupling between the antenna and the feedline.

  • Warranty: Five Years for Antenna, Two Years for Mount & Spring, One Year for Coax
