Chevy GMC CB Antenna Hood Mount (1999-2001)

The mount works, but there was some modification that was needed as neither my 95 nor 99 GM product had the bolts to mount it in place without drilling a hole.

Works great after adjustments

I purchase a mount for my 2018 Chevy Traverse. Had some complications first on how to make it fit. Had my daughters boyfriend takr a look at it with me to get some ideas. We loosened up my hood and slid it over cause driver side gap was a little bit smaller than the passenger side. After a few adjustments it fit like a champ. I would recommend this mount if you have a GM vehicle. This was my best option compared a magnetic mount and attaching antenna to rear bumper Worth the investment.

Chevy GMC CB Antenna Hood Mount (1999-2001)

Excellant hood mount. Easy to install, very sturdy. Easily handled the 4' Firestick with the heavy duty spring. Upon installation I thought it was going to be very flimsy but once the hood was closed, It is very sturdy.

Worked Perfectly on my Colorado

I have a 2005 Chevy Colorado. While this mount is for 1999-2001, it worked flawlessly on my truck. There is a fender bolt very close to the hood hinge that I used with no issues. Then put in 2 self tapping screws to be safe. My 4' Wilson antenna is standing proud! The previous hood lip mount I had put the antenna on a funny angle and had to put it 1/3 down the hood, it just didn't look right and was a bit distracting while driving. This mount made things perfect! I had called RCR and spoke with Gabriel who was very friendly and helpful. Shipping was fast for coming from the other side of the country, very satisfied customer. Could I found these a little cheaper elsewhere, maybe but the support and service from Right Channel Radio was spot on and will be using them in the future for my radio needs. Thanks!

Install it this way

Wish I had fount this mount 10 years ago. Got tricky and initially mounted aerial on 2000 Chev Silverado at radio aerial. Looked good but issues.
This subject hood mount is absolutely perfect.. Aerial rides true: left and right - forward and back. And is an enhancement to my sport truck.
Tip. Install mount snugly with appropriate 3/8ths x 1 inch or so bolt. Then slit rubber fender gasketing with a razor knife. Remove mount and make a crosswise cut to take out a perfect piece of rubber. Re-bolt with ground strap fitting at top of base using a 3/8ths x #8 connector and 1/2 in braid to body or battery. Now, with that done, closing hood gives a precision, tight fit that looks stock. If you are as paranoid ass I am about everything looking "Bristol" _ as we boaters they say, you will love this look.
