At first, thank you, RCR, for the fast delivery. Last week I installed the radio in my truck. Thanks to its compacter size it fits well in the console (in front of the shifter) of my 2. gen. Nissan Frontier.
I routed the antenna cable backwards through the center tunnel, from there under the carpet under the drivers seat, then to the rear of the cabin in the cable channel under the door sill trim. There is a rubber plug right next to the cabin vent (king cab), large enough to feed the cable with the connector through. Great:-) Antenna (5' Firestik) is attached via the "Universal 3-way mount" and some large washers to the existing "Utilirack" channel system.
I had to fit a somewhat longer bolt on the antenna to get SWR down to 1.3.
So far very happy overall! Best thing on the President Thomas is the large display. Easy to read, especially for folks my age 60+...
The reception is very clear and the automatic squelch seems to work good.
In the few days after the install I haven't had a chance to make some conversation, though. Like in Europe (where I came from), CB has gotten rather quite?

I asked them a question about a new CB antenna since I only had used a fiberglass one. I was buying a President Iowa, and was going to mount it on my ditch lights. They recommend what to buy and both worked out great. Now, unfortunately the antenna was delivered bent, but I have a feeling that was due to the shipping company. I wrote Rught Channel and sent pictures of what came in. Without question they sent me another one with no charge. There customer service is excellent and they got back to me real fast. Thank you Right Channel for your help and customer service.

Just the right parts and excellent customer service
After searching extensively for a well designed antenna mounting bracket for my amateur (Ham) radio antenna, I came across a great mount at Right Channel Radios. It is the most discreet and easy to Hood Mount I have ever seen for my 2003 Chevy Tahoe. The fit and location are perfect! After finding the mounting bracket, I had thought I may have to modify the opening from 3/8" to 3/4" to accept an NMO antenna mount. However, I emailed Right Channel Radios and received a prompt reply from Pat Haggerty, who not only answered questions about my needs, but provided an option for an NMO coax cable which would fit the Hood Mount perfectly. I ordered them both and have just finished the installation. I couldn't be more pleased with the way it turned out.
Excellent fitting, well made stainless steel mounting bracket and parts and a high quality NMO coax cable made for a great mount for my antenna. I would highly recommend Right Channel Radios!
