Details
Firestik CB Antenna Mounting Kit: If you're looking for a side mount with style, this is the kit up for you. The Firestik mount makes for a smooth, professional CB antenna installation along any vertical surface. When installed, the coax connectors are concealed on the inside of the vehicle (requires one 13/32" (10mm) and one 13/64" (5mm) mounting hole). We recommend using the mount with Firestik or Firestik II antennas up to 3' (92cm), or FireFly and RoadPal antennas up to 4' (1.2m). The actual mounting surface is approximately 3.125" (79mm) x 1.675" (43mm). Outward protrusion is about 1.875" (48mm). This kit includes a Firestik molded side mount and 18' (5.5m) of professional-grade FireFlex coaxial cable. Mount includes rubber gasket and steel backer plate.

Very Clean Install on Jeep JK Unlimited
Review by BlackRockBurner -
I placed the mount on the rear tub between the driver's side tail light and rear door jam with minor interior sheet metal trimming. I am very pleased with the install and how the coax is protected from water, dirt and mud. (Posted on April 26, 2013)Overall Rating

Has to be vertical surface only.
Review by Foxboss9 -
I mounted this on the truck cab and had to cut down the mount because of the angle of the cab. I knew I had to modify this when I had ordered and it worked out okay. (Thank God I have a plastic welder) The reason for the four stars is that the mounting plate needs to be bigger to help support larger flat panels as mine is a little "flimsy". Other than that, it is a nice addition to my truck. (Posted on March 14, 2013)Overall Rating

Cleanest install
Review by Jason -
This mount is as clean as they get. The ring-lug connection makes it very easy to trim your coax without having to deal with UHF connectors. Just use good crimpers and automotive lugs. I would recommend getting another pair of nuts with lock washers for it so that you can attach it to the body with one nut. Then, attach the coax with a second nut. This will let you get it really snug without having the coax connectors in the way.Overall Rating
This mount increases the effective length of the antenna because of the distance between the antenna threads and the effective ground plane. No problem for CB but I also use it for UHF. And the antenna needed to be trimmed significantly. Not a problem, but don't be surprised if you have to trim an extra inch for very short antennas.
