However, the no-ground equipment in this kit is specially engineered to work when installed on fiberglass, wood and other non-metal surfaces. This kit provides an ideal solution when a good vehicle chassis ground isn't available. Whether it's installed on an RV, trailer, motorhome or boat, this kit will provide superior CB performance in a no-ground environment. All kit components are high-quality parts manufactured by Firestik.

The antenna included in these kits is extremely similar to Firestik's Firefly series, but specially modified for NGP applications. It has a tunable tip, which makes adjusting for peak performance and minimal SWR as simple as turning a screw on top of the antenna.

This kit uses Firestik's popular three-way CB antenna mounting bracket. This extremely versatile mount can be used to mount the antenna to vertical or horizontal mirror arms or other bars. If the back of the mount is removed, it also functions as an "L mount" and can be mounted to any vertical surface. The mount is extremely well built and made of rust-resistant stainless steel. The kit also includes a stainless steel antenna spring, which protects the mount and antenna if the antenna hits an object or becomes snagged.

The 17' coaxial cable included in the kits is of the highest quality. The kit's NGP cable assembly uses a custom-manufactured coaxial cable available only through Firestik. This NGP cable can only be directly attached to Firestik NGP antennas. If a longer cable length is required, the user may add standard RG-58 A/U cable between the radio and NGP cable, preferably in lengths that are multiples of nine feet. Because it is a tuned circuit, the length cannot be reduced without causing non-repairable damage.

The Firestik NGP kit worked wonders for me. I have a 2001 ranger with a fiberglass step side box, so I didn't have enough grounded plane to use the standard CB antennae. I would recommend this to anyone with a similar issue. (Posted on October 9, 2012)

Great kit, works well

I have sent you some pictures of the Firestik 4’ NGP Kit. I had some trouble with the eyelet cable, but used a beefed-up one. The one supplied broke. I used this kit on a dump truck. I also used the spring mount. It works great. I would like to mount it higher but the black top plants are low and hits the SWR adjusting screw and I don’t want damage it. This kit is the best for my truck. My doors are made of plastic and this works great. I give it a 5+. Thank you very much.

I would rate the antenna 4 out of 5. I am satisfied with the antenna, although I was only able to get the SWR down to 2.0 across the band by doing many adjustments. I think it will perform adequately for my need which is communicating with another RV traveling in
close proximity.

I will do business with Right Channel Radios again if the need arises.
