Replaced a small Cobra unit with this one. Installed it in my F-150 in the space under the cup holder. Fit nice, easy to install and looks nice. Put an external under the dash on the drivers side. Lots of volume! Unit works really good and is well built. I like the ease of the controls and the PA has real volume. Lots of benefits for the price!! I've used this model in my RV for over 5 years. It transmits several miles and receives loud and clear even with the short 2' antenna I'm using. It's built rugged also. I've never had a problem with it.

Solid, no frills radio!

I put this radio in my car about a week ago. This thing is a nice solid no frills radio. The build quality is fantastic. The TX/RX seems nice and clear. ANL/NB works great. Mic is nice for a stock mic. I like the fact that the volume and squelch knobs are single knobs, not stacked. I use those controls more than any other and prefer them to be big knobs. My only gripe is the TX LED, which is very bright. I was able to fix that by putting a 470ohm resistor in line and now it is nice and dim.
