High SWR Troubleshooting Flowchart
This flowchart and the recommended troubleshooting steps should be used if you are unable to achieve acceptable SWR (below 2.0) after tuning your CB antenna. If you've tuned your antenna successfully (below 2.0 SWR) and are unhappy with your antenna's performance, please see our article on Great SWR, Poor Performance. As 95% to 98% of all CB performance issues stem from the antenna or antenna installation, this guide focuses almost exclusively on the antenna's installation, grounding and wiring.
