The "FL" Firefly series antennas are the performance leader of lightweight top-loaded CB antennas. Each is approximately 40% lighter than the equivalent length Firestik II antenna. From the perspective of mount stress, the lighter materials and reduced wind drag of the FL antennas reduce stress by more than 60%. A 4' FireFly will easily perform on a mount designed for antennas 3' or shorter. At the top of every FL antenna, you'll find Firestik's patented tunable tip. Apart from making tuning a snap, the design broadens the antenna's bandwidth and increases its power-handling capabilities. All FL antennas are compatible with autos, trucks, vans, motorcycles and ATVs in a single antenna configuration when metallic ground plane is available. Or, they may be used in dual (co-phased) configuration on any vehicle made from any type of material.

Like all CB antennas, the FL antennas should be fine-tuned (SWR) in their final mounting location. If you have ever tuned a non-tunable tip antenna, you will have a real appreciation for the FL antennas. In short, tuning is as easy as popping off the tip and turning the adjustment screw up or down as needed. All FL antennas exceed the requirements of any CB radio, new or old. Aside from the hi-performance loading coil that maximizes the transmit/receive functions of your CB, these top-loaded antennas will also receive the NOAA emergency weather alert and national weather broadcasts for radios with those features.

All FL antennas are 100% American made with 100% American materials. To maintain a balance between flexibility and ruggedness, Firestik uses a custom blended, glass fiber reinforced tube. Each is wound with double insulated copper wire to prevent the oxidation and shorted windings often found on non-Firestik antennas. The tunable tip mechanism is made from rust-proof brass and has a rubber O-ring to hold the adjuster in place after tuning. Each antenna is covered with a static-reducing, water-tight sleeve containing UV and pigment stabilizers. For peak performance, we recommend you use Fire-Flex or RoadPal coax cables with these antennas.

ALL antennas, regardless of style or manufacturer, MUST be tuned after installation on the vehicle. Transmitting antennas are not "plug-n-play" devices.

Nice and Flexible

I have the 3 foot version mounted high on the rear tub of my Jeep JK. It stands a few inches taller than my 7 foot garage opening and I thought I may need a spring or place a quick disconnect to save the antenna. But the Firefly is able to flex so there is no damage. Tuning was very easy with the adjustable tip. I'm thinking of ordering a red tip to bring a little contrast to the mast. (Posted on April 27, 2013)

Hell of a high performing CB antenna!

We got the Firestik Firefly CB Antenna and a Heavy Duty magnetic mount from Right Channel Radios. If you are looking for a high quality, high performance antenna, this is it! Yes I had some problems setting the SWR well because I was doing it. Somebody with little to a lot of experience With getting the SWR the lowest possible, 5 minutes is what all you need. I ended up driving up an old logging road on top of a mountain so I would not have any interference what so ever and got my SWR down to a 1.3 !

After I got a low SWR, I was talking 15 miles away loud and clear to a friend ontop of a Mountain who said I was very clear. He was clear also and they where using the Wilson 1000 Magnet CBS Antenna, and they sounded great. We where using only stock CBS Radios ( Midland 1001LWX and Midland 75-822) that we got only from Right Channel Radios.

If you need a high performance low cost antenna that is easy to tune to get great low SWR's, The Firestik Firefly from Right Channel Radios is for you! (Posted on April 22, 2013)

4' Firestik Firesfly

I bought a Firestik Firefly 4' and thought it'd be too long once I got it and placed it in it's mounting location. So, I ordered a 3' (& kept the 4' just in case). With the 3' in place I couldn't get my SWR any lower than 2.5. Rather than change mount location, I decided to try the 4'. (Glad I kept it!) It looks a bit tall, but my SWR is down to 1.5 on the money. It's a good antenna and is very easy to tune. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone, especially a beginner like myself.
