This packaged kit from Firestik is a great solution for 1994 to 2003 Dodge Ram and Dakota owners who want to mount their antennas on the hoods of their trucks! The mount uses the existing fender bolt to attach to the truck for a no-drill install and can be mounted on either the driver or passenger side. Includes 18' of quality Firestik coax with a compatible low-profile, weather-resistant ring connection. Designed from rust-resistant stainless steel, the mount is recommended for antennas up to 4' tall.

Compatible with:	All fiberglass & center-load antennas that use a standard 3/8" x 24 threaded base. The mount is recommend for antennas up to 4' in length.
Installation Notes:	Important Note: The PL-259 connector (radio screw-on end) is supplied in this kit but is NOT installed on the coax cable. This allows the cable to be routed into the vehicle through a smaller (0.375") hole. After the connector is placed on the coax, the center must be soldered to the PL connector. When the hood is open, the fender bolt near the firewall is removed (right or left side) and later reused to bolt the antenna bracket to the under-hood fender lip. All mounting hardware is invisible unless the hood is open. Additional stainless steel sheet metal screws are supplied if additional strength is determined to be needed. The bracket has a pre-determined bend and does not interfere with the closing of the hood.

The SS184 stainless steel mount is primarily used to install antennas on 1994 through 2003 Dodge Ram and Dakota pickups. (Due to body changes made in 2004, this mount will not fit 2004 and newer vehicles). When the hood is open, the fender bolt near the firewall is removed (right or left side) and later reused to bolt the antenna bracket to the fender lip under the hood. All mounting hardware is invisible unless the hood is open. Additional stainless steel sheet metal screws are supplied for extra strength. The bracket has a predetermined bend and does not interfere with hood closure. The bracket is 2" (51mm) wide by 4.1" (104mm) long. The stud requires terminal or ring-style coaxial connectors. However, we offer a mini kit containing the bracket and FireRing coax in one package. So, if you don't already have the coax, the mini kit (MK-184R) would be a better choice.

I mounted this on my 2001 Dodge and it is perfect for what I do. I mounted it one fender lug farther towards the front of the truck to keep SWR lower. I mounted a 4' Firestik II on this mount and my SWR tuned out lower than the antenna was predicted to by Firestik. (Posted on February 12, 2013)

This mount was very easy to install on my 03 Dakota. All necessary hardware is included; all you need is a 13mm wrench. Just simply remove the fender bolt, place the mount over the hole and re-insert the bolt. It's that simple! I'm very happy with the way this turned out. I have a 4 ft firestick 2 FS antenna with a heavy duty spring that keeps it from swaying all over like my old Wilson 1000 magnet mounted to the roof. This is definitely worth it if you are a hard core CB'er! (Posted on January 17, 2013)
