Wilson Short Whip Power

When purchasing the Wilson 1000 antennae I also purchased the Short Whip because even though the 62” whip works great, it is too big for most uses. I loose about 2db using the Short Whip over the 62” whip but it is much easier to get around town on the roof of my SUV. When I drive in the field, long distances from other users, I switch back to the 62” whip. Also, I had to cut 2 inches off the Short Whip to get a perfect 1:1 SWR with my installation.

Exactly what I was looking

Exactly what I was looking for. Right length, I don't have the 64 in hitting everything as I drive around in the mountains.

Sometimes “Short Is Good!”

This is a quality short-load whip. Had to shorten it a little bit (about 3/4 inch) to achieve a good, uniform SyR; 1.5).
Reception and transmission is very good, as indicated in the product description. Right Channel Radios did a great job in packaging and quick delivery. Impressive!!!

Good antenna not perfect

Its a good antenna but not perfect. Could not get SWR’s lower than 1.5 . It picks up good reception I mounted it in the center of my truck roof, had a professional adjust swr’s with a MFJ-249 analyzer . Next time I will find a better brand antenna.
