This is my first purchase from Right Channel Radios and has been a pleasant one so far. I received everything I ordered within a week and got it installed the following weekend. The Wilson 5000 roof mount antenna seems to be solid and works well. It was easy to tune and it makes my old Uniden XL CB/10 Meter radio sound crystal clear.

I don't care what others say,... I bought a Wilson 1000, SWR tuned it up with an old "Road Talker 40" radio and it works just fine.... The truckers and everyone says my radio sounds great... You just have to be careful not to screw the load on too tight in warm weather, because the thermo plastic housing will shrink even more in cold weather, making it rather difficult to unscrew the load & whip when needed. But overall, this is the best CB antenna on the market today. Well built, great trans & reception capabilities when setup properly.

First off let me say that I have always loved the Wilson 1000. I have never had a problem them at all there so easy just to plug-and-play. One day i was going under a parking garage and ripped the Wilson 1000 off my car. It still worked fine, but decided to retire the 4 Wilson 1000 and try my luck at a Wilson 5000. I bought me a Wilson 5000 and had for a month and notice the the antenna was taking in water from the top load. I thought maybe rain got in it so i dried it off and screwed it back on, the next morning i woke up just to see if every thing was ok, only to find it fill up with water again. So I sent it off to Wilson for repair. Meanwhile I bought another brand new Wilson 5000 out of the box hooked it up and could not get a good match. it was over 2.3 on 20 and 2.7 on 1 we cut the whip to try to match it but was unable to get a good match from this antenna. So two Wilson 5000 brand came out of the box where worthless and I'm out $250.00 on trying to get this thing to work. Bad luck or crappy workmanship from Wilson? Never again will I buy a Wilson 5000.
