If you're using a 4-watt stock CB radio, we recommend the Wilson 1000 roof CB antenna over the more expensive Wilson 5000. The 1000 is cheaper and will provide similar transmit and receive performance. The additional price for the Wilson 5000 is justified if you're running high-wattage radio equipment or if the antenna will be used frequently in extreme winter conditions, as the 5000's floating coil is designed to prevent ice-related performance issues.

Compatible with:	All CB radios. To mount this antenna, you'll need to drill a hole in the roof of your vehicle and access the mounting surface from below. For installation with vehicle headliners, the headliner must be removed prior to drilling. The coax cable connects to the antenna at a low angle, so it's possible to re-install the headliner without noticing the coax or antenna mount post-install.

This is my third time buying from Right Channel Radios and I plan on coming back for more. This antenna is great if you don't mind drilling a hole on your vehicle. The install took me about 45 minutes. Very quick and easy and the antenna tuned almost perfect out of the box (need to shorten the whip a little). Wilson seems to be a great brand and Right Channel Radios is a great and helpful website that I have recommended to friends. (Posted on June 21, 2012)

The Wilson 5000 is the best antenna out there. I got it for my F-150. From the minute I turn on my radio 'till the time I turn it off, I'm all over the states. My Galaxy 959 And Wilson get along real good. 'Course I'm pushing 400 watts. Good job to both workmanship. (Posted on May 31, 2012)

Quality Antenna & Great Experience

This is my first purchase from Right Channel Radios and has been a pleasant one so far. I received everything I ordered within a week and got it installed the following weekend. The Wilson 5000 roof mount antenna seems to be solid and works well. It was easy to tune and it makes my old Uniden XL CB/10 Meter radio sound crystal clear.

I don't care what others say,... I bought a Wilson 5000, SWR tuned it up with an old "Road Talker 40" radio and it works just fine.... The truckers and everyone says my radio sounds great... You just have to be careful not to screw the load on too tight in warm weather, because the thermo plastic housing will shrink even more in cold weather, making it rather difficult to unscrew the load & whip when needed. But overall, this is the best CB antenna on the market today. Well built, great trans & reception capabilities when setup properly.
