Quick Overview

The Wilson 1000 outperforms all other fiberglass, base-loaded and center-loaded antennas, making it our top recommendation for best-in-class range! Constructed with 10-gauge windings and a high-impact thermoplastic shell, this antenna is designed to survive years of tough use. The screw-off coil allows the antenna to separate at the coax-wired base for convenience entering low-clearance areas or for temporary antenna storage. This trunk-lip Wilson 1000 antenna is a great choice for mounting a high-performance CB to the trunk of your car, hatchback or other vehicle.

Additional Information

Model / SKU: Wilson W1000 TL-BK
Recommended for: High-performance, long-range CB use for cars, SUVs or any other vehicle with a trunk lip. If using a 4-watt stock CB radio, we recommend this antenna over the more expensive Wilson 5000. The 1000 is cheaper and will provide similar transmit and receive performance. Paying more for the Wilson 5000 is justified if you're running high-wattage radio equipment or if the antenna will be used frequently in extreme winter conditions, as the 5000's floating coil is designed to prevent ice-related performance issues.
Notable Features: Class-Leading Range, Screw-Off Antenna Coil, Rated for 3,000 Watts
Compatible with: All CB radios. The antenna can be mounted to any vehicle with a trunk lip. The mount slides over the edge of the trunk lip, and screws on the bottom of the mount clamp the antenna to the vehicle.

Excellent antenna choice

Review by Rex
Overall Rating
I agree with the other reviewers that this antenna is excellent. I easily mounted it to the trunk of a 2008 Ford Focus and ran the cable through the trunk into the passenger area. Plenty of cable to reach all the way to the dash, but then again it's a small car. Great reception and transmission using a stock Uniden 880. Also does a good job receiving the weather radio channels. Can be easily removed from the trunk when you don't need it. I also have a Wilson 500 mag mount that I've used for years and have had good service from, and the 1000 is definitely a step up. I appreciate the advice from Right Channel Radios that clarified the difference between the 1000 and 5000, noting that you really don't need the 5000 unless you're operating in extreme temperatures or planning to pump a huge amount of power through it, neither of which I'm doing so the 1000 was the right (and cheaper) choice. I had this product for almost 1 month now and it has performed very good. I was going to buy the k40 but on the last minute, I decided to get the Wilson 1000 and was very glad I did. I would strongly recommend this to others.

Nice Antenna!

Review by Andrew G
Overall Rating
This was a great purchase at a good price. I looked all over and couldn't find it any cheaper, and I have been very pleased with the results of the antenna.

I can hear everyone for several miles, from the hills of east Tennessee to the plains of west TN. I drive from Knoxville to Memphis and this antenna has given me great results and was an excellent replacement for my poor quality radio shack magnetic mount.

Installation was easy, and the actual antenna detaches from the base and stores in my trunk when I have to get into parking garages or other tight spaces. The antenna also came with a weather cap so that when I take it off, the base doesn't get damaged. Be prepared for a very long box when this is shipped to you. The cable included was just long enough for me to run it from my trunk to under my seat where I ultimately mounted it (so it doesn't get stolen in Memphis) if you are planning on a dash install or some other location and want to cable to be under your molding, then it likely will not be long enough for the install on mid to large sized vehicles and you will need to get an extension. (I have a Camry so that will tell you that the cable is a lot shorter than you think it will be once it is run under your paneling).

You will have to play with the length adjustment to get the best reception, but it is very easily done with the included wrench. I'll give this a 5, and Wilson even guarantees that it will be the best transmitting antenna or your money back.
