Wow, Great CB setup!

My friend has one of these and wow. Easy to mount the antenna, and easy to install the radio. He has had it for about 3 weeks now and i have been able to make contact with him and easily understand him from 2 miles away. After blowing out a fuse trying to get the P12XX cigarette adapter hooked up he went to radio shack and purchased more fuses and a better cigarette adapter plug and hasn't blown a fuse since.

Ideal setup for a car, Great Buy!

This was a GREAT BUY! I plugged everything in, used velcro to hold up my radio, turned it on and asked "is there anyone out there?" Sure enough, I got a good 5 replies. Then I asked who could hear me, and one after another they all told me that I was coming in loud and clear! 7 people total, one after another telling me they could hear me and to go crazy on the CB!

I think I am getting at least a 6-mile range. Also, the radio is very nice and very crisp, the dials are easy to turn and seem durable. I believe this to be the ideal setup for a car. The only con was that the day after I ordered the kit, RCR's website went down and I thought I might have been scammed. But no worries, 2 days later I received my radio and antenna!

Great bargain that works well!

Got this CB on a Friday, saw that I needed powerpoles and a cig lighter adapter for my need & bought those at a local ham radio outlet. EZ peasy and I'm no expert at this. Connected it to the car and it worked fine. On Sunday we drove into a Terrible snowstorm but this little CB package kept me well informed thanks to the truckers.

Eventually I will hard wire this into a car. If you're looking for high value for the cost, this is a great package. The only reason I rated it 4 stars is because RCR should at least offer the power poles & CigBuddy as an accessory for those who want a portable package.

Still I will definitely recommend RCR and this package to friends. (Posted on December 31, 2012)

This CB radio works. I have not been on the thruway yet to my home up state from Long Island. There's not much CB people around here other than the Long Island expressway but still, I did get a radio check from one trucker. Thouhg I got several no return radio checks, I think it's the area not the radio. I will get back to you when I'm on the thruway with some real CB people. Talk soon (Posted on March 8, 2013)
