I've been using 510's for 15 years. Best bang for the buck. Works great, sounds great. Others always think I'm running a high dollar radio. Best part is they are cheap enough that if you were able to wear one out, just go buy a new one. I have 3 in different vehicles and no problems.

I've had the Uniden Pro 510XL mounted in my Jeep JK, over the rear view mirror, for over a year now. The radio get very good reports from truckers out on the highway, even with the tiny little microphone it comes with. It has an amazingly clear speaker for being such a tiny size. The controls are solid and sturdy, not loose and wiggly. When you change channel you feel a nice solid "click" so you know your moving the knob. The radio is great for an off-road vehicle because it is so simple in its design. Just set the channel, adjust the volume and away you go. The radio is the only one that I could find that was small enough and sturdy enough to fit in the newer jeeps. Jeep never thought about where to place a CB! This radio gets it done! If I could change anything it would be the cheesy microphone, but even though it looks cheesy it gets the job done.

I recently purchased the Uniden Pro 510XL Cb radio and a wilson magnetic antenna for my personal vehicle. I installed the products as the directions said in my Dodge Van. I have roughly a 7 mile range with this radio, the signal is great regardless of what else I have on in the vehicle. I am a firefighter and often have a police band radio right beside it in the vehicle. Even with both of them turned on the cb still receives and transmits great! I would definitely rate this system a 5.

I give it high marks because it perfectly fits its intended application for me. Our sand rail club uses CB radios for communications in our vehicles. We install headphones in our helmets and plug them into the speaker output on the radio. Next, we route the microphone up and attach it to a ring on the seat belt shoulder harness. The microphone is enclosed in a plastic bag so that the sand does not foul up the mic switch and it keeps rain or wash-down water out. Then, we used packaging tape to wrap the body of the radio so that sand or water cannot enter through the speaker area. The controls are fairly sand/weather resistant. The 510XL is light in weight which is important in a sport where every pound saved accounts for better performance. We also like the fact that channel selection uses knobs instead of buttons -- no risk of bumping it and getting off-channel when you are busy. Finally, it is inexpensive so when it eventually gets ruined due to no fault of it's own, I can afford another.

Very nice compact radio that does exactly what you expect a CB to do. I am very happy with this radio. It performs, is reliable, looks good, and the price is excellent.
