Right Channel Radios was definitely the right choice! When I ordered my first CB I was a little tentative about my purchase. However, after I saw other reviews and saw their technical help page, I figured they would help me if I had any trouble. Sure enough, after ordering the Midland 1001z car kit I noticed (from the tech page) that I should order an SWR meter. I was going on a family road trip with my wife and kids and needed them to combine my orders. I e-mailed them and about two hours later they replied, "not to worry that would be no problem." I received my order on time and we were ready for our road trip!

The Midland 1001z kit worked better than we expected. While driving through the mountains our cell phone couldn't get a signal! But we knew if we had any problems all we had to do is turn on the emergency channel. What a relief, one less thing to worry about while enjoying the open road.

Overall I would give this unit a 4. The only reason I didn't give it a five is because I wish it had weather channels. I am already looking on their web site for one.

My CB equipment came in fast and worked great. It appears it is pre-tuned as well. I rate it a 4, only because the LCD display on the 1001z occasionally goes out on one line, but it's not much of a distraction.

We bought these because we have adult children we often vacation with. We
love to wilderness camp and often cell phones do not carry a signal out of
populated areas. These CBs will be used to keep each vehicle in touch with
each other should we be separated. They will also be used to keep ATV
riders in touch while out surveying our land in conjunction with a home base
CB setup. These are great CBs at an economical cost but what sold us on
them is they are pretty much "plug and play". Very easy installation.

I purchased one of your Midland 1001z Radio Kits with the Hustler Antenna. It's been an excellent radio and I haven't had any problems with it. I really liked the RF Gain control included on this radio which is a rarity. I will definitely be purchasing equipment from you guys again. The radio runs excellently. I didn't use the lighter plug that was sent because I didn't know how to wire it in; however I already had one from my old CB Radio and so I used wire crimpers to rewire to that one. Other than that it's been an EXCELLENT radio. My friend and I get on the CB all the time (almost every night) and we will talk all night long on them. I have taken this radio with me many places now and the antenna has been very good too. You can expect a great quality CB out of this radio. I would rate this radio a 5 on a scale of 1-5. Again, thank you for the excellent service, Right Channel Radios. Oh, and one more thing: I had to cut the antenna down a little bit but she tuned to a 1.1-1 SWR by the time I was done. It only took me about 15 minutes to do. Like I said, it's an excellent kit.

If you're looking for a great starter cb radio then look no further. I purchased this about 2 weeks ago and it has not disappointed me at all. The cb is very concealable and takes up hardly any room. Everything was simple to install, if this is your first cb then you will not have any trouble installing this unit.

The pros: great size, great price, and easy to use. The antenna came out of the box already tuned which is a first for me.

The cons: not a biggie with me, but I heard complaints from others about the lack of a scan feature. Solution: just go online and find out the most used channels.

I would recommend this product to anyone.
