Excellent kit for any off-road vehicle. I got this with the universal hood mount and had it all installed in my Chevy Suburban in under an hour. The included SWR meter lets you tune the antenna for optimal performance. I've gotten excellent results. Great radio and antenna combo with all the required accessories for a full installation.

I ordered the Jeep and Off-Road kit to replace a tired, much abused unit that had quit transmitting. Basic install was very simple and quick, but I wanted to change antennae location from the spare tire stop to a front location. I mounted the 4' Wilson antennae on the drivers side, using the hood mount. I snaked the coax thru the firewall utilizing an existing, grommeted hole. I then fired it up and tuned the SWR according to the instructions, and I now have one of the best trsil communication units in the Two Rivers Jeep Club ( TRJC.com ). The price was modest and shipping was prompt- I had the unit in three days. Way to go! Thanks!

This is an amazing kit at an amazing price. Its amazingly simple to install and works wonderfully. The only change i made to the kit was that i opted with a different mount because i liked the looks of the mount i chose better. The antenna is top notch and the radio great. The speaker is loud enough for me to hear over the road noise seeing as i drive a soft top. If you own a jeep and want a complete cb kit this is the way to go.

Purchased the Jeep total install kit. Came with everything I needed although I used a Teraflex antennae mount. Install was quick and easy. Products worked great with great range. Five stars for sure.

I purchased the Uniden Pro 510XL with 4' Wilson Flex antenna package deal recently because the club I'm joining requires a CB in the Jeep for trail rides. The price was right since it included the SWR Meter and 18' of coax cable, and delivery was prompt with all items well packaged. Installation was easy but tuning the antenna took a little time. I was able to get it to 1.25:1 once I realized that it must be tuned with the rubber end cap on the antenna. I also had to hook up the included ground wire to the mounting base, something most people apparently don't have to do according to what I've read. Incoming reception and output signal are excellent. Overall I give the deal a 5/5 and would definitely recommend!

The Uniden kit has everything needed to get you up and running. It includes a Uniden 510XL CB radio, your choice from three available antenna mounting solutions, a 3' or 4' Wilson Flex antenna (these are NICE), and a SWR meter with cable to properly adjust your antenna once everything is installed. I've seen so many folks just thread an antenna onto a mount and call it good.....and these are the same folks that you can't hear a hundred yards away on the trail. Glad to see that the Right Channel guys included the SWR meter. Now you don't have an excuse for an improperly tuned antenna (and you don't have to pay a CB shop to tune it for you).
I'm somewhat of a fan of the Wilson Flex antenna. I've been running their 4' model for a couple of years and have had nothing but total satisfaction while doing so. I was very pleased to see that Right Channel Radios included a Wilson Flex antenna in their off-road kit. I had my choice of a 3' or 4' model and chose the 3' length. Why the shorter one? As I said, I've ran the 4' for a couple of years and I wanted to see how well the 3' model performed. Also, I can get my garage door up and down with the 3' model.
The Uniden name has been around for quite some time and is prevalent in both commercial and consumer communications. The Pro 510XL is a good entry level radio in my opinion and might very well be all you'll need for your off-road adventures. In the day and age where some manufacturers provide 1 year or sometimes just 90 day warrantees on electronics, you get a 2 year warranty on the 510XL.
The audio output from the 510XL is pretty good. The manual rates the speaker at 3 watts and unit is capable of 7 watts of audio output (there is an external speaker on the rear panel) so hearing it should not be a problem. The downward facing speaker is optimally located should you decide to mount the radio on the upper portion of your sports bar or roll cage (as I did).
For the time being, the Uniden Off-Road Kit has more than met my expectations for performance. The fact that the installation was clean and easy and the antenna adjustment was done in just a matter of minutes with excellent results was just more frosting on the cake, in my opinion.
