I installed this in my 08 2dr JK with the 4' Firestik and Teraflex mount. It is a must to get a spring with the Firestik. Also I mounted the antenna mount to the lowest point on my Smittybilt tire carrier so the antenna doesn't sit too tall. Even with that I can't fit under the garage door. This is where the spring comes in handy. I pull the antenna to a 45 deg angle with bungie to clear garage door and just unhook when I get to the trails. There is just enough cable for my 2 door JK (18'). You 4 door guys may need more depending upon where you mount it. I mounted it behind my glovebox as suggested in another review. I tapped into the cigaret lighter with power alway on. As for the mic mount, I took a piece of 1/2"x1/8" flat aluminum and tied it into the upper right bolt of radio mount with a 90 deg bend and a 45 deg bend. I mounted the supplied mic hanger to that.

It is very important to get a good ground on the antenna and don't put the plastic washer in the wrong spot. It is supposed to go betweent he antenna and the mount. My bad. I ran an extra ground wire from frame to bottom of antenna mount just to be sure. Don't forget to remove paint were needed. I end up with a SWR value of 1.0 after tuning with the directions that came with the tuner. The tuning directions that are on website didn't work out for me.

Hope this helped.

I would like to say that I am happy with my purchase. I bought the Jeep package because it fit exactly what I needed. The Cobra 75 all-in-one handheld is a great choice for a wrangler. I like the ability to disconnect the radio from the port and have nothing showing when I run no doors/no top. The package had everything I needed to do the install, no need to go out and buy odds and ends to finish. The only problem I'm having is a good sturdy spot to hold the cb, the clip that came with it isn't enough to hold it in place when the jeep is moving over rough terrain. I would rate this package as a 5 out of 5 for anyone with a wrangler. I installed mine on my 08 wrangler unlimited using the teraflex bracket for the whip.

The best thing I liked about the radio is the size. Being small provides endless variations in installation location. I dash mounted by microphone connector on the right side of the steering wheel and the external speaker up on the dash near the left hand side. Two long bolt and nuts hold the under dash box out of the way and you only know I have it if you notice the 4 foot antenna when its not tied down. Great system and when I lost (dropped) the antenna adjustment screw (its REALLY small or I'm just blind) the folks at Right Channel shipped one out to me at no charge! Great support and I appreciate the personalized emails to make sure I had a good installation. Thanks again.

Pros of the Cobra radio:

Ease of use, one handed operation, size, removable mic, mounted under my
seat bracketm and is out of sight and out of harm's way.

Cons - have yet to find many, speaker option should probably have an
upgraded speaker with 10 plus watts or amplified to be heard clearly, but I
will order my own.

The products are used for the TJ 2003 Rubicon, and the JK 2010 4DR Rubicon,
trail communications, no issues yet. I still have to do the install on the JK
, but have been focused on the TJ build.

Rating of products ordered 4.5, minus the speaker issue, but knew of that
when I ordered, will just purchase a better one soon.

You should also be getting some new customers as I now seem to be the source
of info and good deals!

I have owned this product for about 2 weeks. I would recommend it to others. I will say that an installation guide would have been helpful, especially for the price. If you search for "cobra installation jeep" one option is http://www.4x4xplor.com/cb.html. Behind the glove box is a great spot for it.

I bought the Jeep Off-Road Package Cobra 75 WX ST a few weeks ago with the upgrade to the Teraflex tail light mount. All I can say is this was a very great package deal. The install went very fast over a weekend, taking my time. I use the CB radio while 4 wheeling with my Jeep club Fearless 4x4. We went to do hell hole this past weekend and I had no problems with the radio except that with all the bouncing around the tab that holds the handset to the mount broke. This may be a problem for some but in no way affects how the radio works. I love the fact that this is a remote mount unit and it tucks very nicely under the dash out of sight. The controls were very easy to use and once I got used to them it seemed like second nature to me. I would highly recommend this product to anyone especially if you happen to own a Jeep Wrangler, as space is very limited.
