Purchased this product a few weeks ago in the 4' version, installed on my chevy 2500 on the back-rack...works outstanding! reception with no toaster is crystal clear to upwards of 5 miles, closer to 10 notrmally. i dont have these hooked to an extrordinary radio, but they still blow me away! i live in the country, and am getting great reception even with the trees and hilly terrain around me. they are even better on the highway! easy to install, wish they came with longer coax, but that was the only concern. i would reccommend these to anyone looking onto a set of nice duals. oh, and they look mean on the truck too...i will be using the FS stake pocket mounts this winter and cant wait to see how they perform, i hope as well as the perm. mounts!

I installed these antennas on the rear of my Jeep to the top of the auxillary luggage racks that are attached to a swing out tire carrier. Almost the entire length of the 4' antennas are above the ragtop roofline. I didn't have much hope for transmission length due to the antennas only being about 4&1/2' apart, but I've been able to call CQ over 10 miles away up in the desert without use of a linear, but on average I can clearly communicate 2 to 2&1/2 miles in varied forest terrain. I installed a dedicated #10 ground wire to each antenna & grounded the conductors to a ground bus attached to the frame. I had burned up a single 5' Firestik previously that had a weak ground and a 50 watt linear. NO MORE LINEARS!!! If you need to communicate via radio for more than two miles, go get your amateur tech license. The exam is not difficult as even I was able to pass it. I don't understand all that frequency & wavelength voodoo, but the little tinfoil hats are cute. KI6WMK.

great product! i have a chevy s10, and was worried that mounting two antennas so close would reduce the performance, because i was planning on mounting them on the top of the front of the bed, behind the rear glass. when i installed one whip, and tuned it, the lowest swr i could achieve was 1:1.7, which isn't bad, but when i installed and tuned both at the same time, the swr was reduced to 1:1.2, which is excellent. very good performance out of the fiberglass whips, i have stock radio and talk upwards of 8 miles.
