I just wanted to chime in real quick and say how impressed I was with the quality of everything that I ordered from RCR, and that my Firestik FS works better than expected and only took few minutes to tune. Great product! Also, very fast shipping!

So far I have no Cons with the antenna.

The 3' Firestick antenna is outstanding. On a scale of 1-5 it's definitely a 5.

Pros: It worked first time out of the box (tuning is required), reception and transmission on my Cobra is excellent. This antenna is attached to a custom built mount using a heavy duty spring on my 2006 Frontier. We do a lot of back-country driving and I found no problems.

Cons: I did not find any.

Great antenna. I have this with a medium duty spring and a quick disconnect. Range is good out to about 2 to 2.5 miles. I think I might upgrade to the 4-footer to see if the range will improve. Very sturdy, great quality, and the easy tune feature worked great. I would highly recommend this antenna.

Firestik has always made good antennas. This one works great, not a single problem with it. However I think I am going to go with a 4ft one, and replace the 3ft I have now, just to help with my range. Installed with universal mount off the hood of a '99 Suburban. The tip stands up past the roofline by a good 18 inches. Tuning was super simple with the turn-tip of the antenna. Antenna got a few good wacks in an underground parking garage and came through unscathed before it was actually lowered! Rode nice on the highway at speed with light waving, light to moderate in high wind. Great reception for about 1.5 miles. Adequate reception for about just about 2. Low reception but extremely garbled past that - squelch feature on the radio cut that out.

I bought the 2' version of this antenna. I mounted it next to the hood. For that purpose, it is too short. My range was a mile at best. I ended up getting a 55" Hustler HQ27 from a friend mounted in the same location and my range increase on every channel a lot. Tuning was easy and the customer service of this company is great. I'm sure if I would've mounted it on the roof, my range would have been much better. Mounting such a short antenna next to the hood just didn't work. However, I will say, I do like the mount (Firestik Adjustable Universal Hood Mount).
