Cobra 29 WX NW ST "Classic" CB Radio

I recently purchased this radio for our trip up the Dalton Highway to Atigun pass. The SWR meter came in handy for tuning my antenna. The radio proved to be a very important tool during our trip as there is no cell phone coverage along the way. Also... many trucks were convoying and pulling oversize loads. We kept in contact with the rally cars and were able to find pullouts well ahead of meeting them. Communications were always clear and understandable. The weather channels were important too. Getting the most up to date weather, we could plan ahead accordingly. I really like the nightwatch feature too. It makes the panel easily readable in all lighting conditions. The radio functioned flawlessly any time we needed it. This is the third Cobra radio I've owned and every one of them has given me excellent service.

I got this radio for my birthday after owning a cobra 19 which got me into CB radios. The radio has great transmit and receive. I originally had the radio hooked up to wilson's little wil antenna which I already had so I could check if the radio was working properly, which it was. Then for Christmas I got a K40 trunk lip mount antenna with the added magnet mount. When I tested the radio with the new antenna I was surprised to find that I could get 4 miles out of the radio.

Why I gave it a 4 out of 5 stars is because for some reason, when I was listening to the weather channels, I found that the farther NOAA weather station seems to come in stronger.

over the years had developed a case of very poor performance. After
verifying the antenna lead and grounds were good, I elected to replace both
the radio and the antenna. Discussions with knowledgeable people within our
caravan group led me to choose the Cobra 29 WX NW ST and the Wilson "Silver
Load" FGT antenna to replace the existing units in order to get better
reception on our caravan camp outs. The advantages of this CB are numerous,
but for me the biggest pluses are the "Night Watch", which allows me to see
the console in the dim of the cabover, easy transition from our caravan
channel to channel 19 to be able to monitor truck traffic, and the ability
to monitor the weather. A plus for Right Channel is they want to ensure you
have a good online shopping experience and that your order is correct and
on schedule. I would rate my experience with Right Channel and my new CB as
a 5.

This is the second radio i have purchased from you guys and I was very pleased on how fast the delivery was. I received both within a couple days of clicking 'confirm' on the purchase screen. Second, I have been a fan of Cobra CBs and I am extremely pleased. I am a pizza delivery driver and I gave my buddy at work my old CB so now we can chat while we are on deliveries plus when I am on the road I turn my radio on to listen to people's conversations and maybe chime in myself once in a while. As to pros and cons of my 29 NW WX ST Classic I havent found any cons. Pros, I definitely recommend the Nightwatch, I like the PA system on it and being I drive in snow I love the Weather and how it's set up on my radio. If there was one thing I would recommend to Cobra is make the radios so they can have different lighting colors, I love the blue that was on my 29 chrome. I give this product 5 stars and I will buy and recommend Right Channel Radios to my friends.

I purchased a Cobra 29 WX NW ST "Classic" CB Radio from RCR after a much welcome discussion with RCR's Sales department. I had not had a CB Radio in 30 years and was "out of touch" with the state of the art. I also purchased a Wilson 5000 Magnetic antenna. The system is mounted in my Silverado and I could not be happier with the performance. Great people, great service, honest answers and fast shipping. Two friends will be following my lead with RCR.
