Have had the Cobra 29 LTD Chrome a little over a week now. As a professional driver (truck driver) I am on, or listening to the radio at least 14 hours a day. I bought this unit at the same time I bought new cables, dual 3 foot antennas, antenna brackets, and external speaker. So everything was new. After calibration the radio did what all 29 LTD's do out of the box. It gave a clear, distinct, crisp, sound. I took it out on the flat lands of Illinois. There I sent and received signals as far as 4 1/2 miles. In the Mountains of Tennessee it was about 2 to 3 miles. The looks are stunning, though I have the radio in dash so it doesn't dazzle like Cobra would want. All you can see is my face plate and the chrome mic. Long enough mic cord allows you to place it at arms length away. Works so well you aren't getting it back! Problems: The talk back feature at full volume is not audible, even with an external speaker, not even close. I had my ear right up to the speaker and THEN finally heard my voice. The cold blue channel and meter lights are so cool but won't dim enough at night and are a distraction. That's all for the problems which is why I am still giving this a 4 out of 5 stars! Beautiful unit (who cares) Functional (Now we are talking) it's ideal! Price is set perfect. Do buy a new antenna when getting this unit! Old worn out antennas create a squeal in any radio! Annoys everyone!

My experience with CB radios dates back to the 70's so I have seen a lot of products and variations in quality over the years. After purchasing the LTD 29 Chrome, I was really impressed with the quality in the design of the radio both inside and out. After a peak and tune I installed it in my vehicle and gave it a try. For those of you who care, the tech told me these radios will dead key about 5w and swing 25 when properly set up. The sound quality both coming in and going out of the radio was excellent. The controls felt smooth and secure (read good quality). If I was to try really hard to find a squawk, it would be that the dimmer control for the lights doesn't dim it enough for night operations. This will be solved by using a small piece of window tinting over the s-meter and channel display. So far I would recommend this radio without hesitation.

I am very happy with my radio, Cobra 29LTD Chrome. It's exactly what I had expected and fit perfectly where I wanted it to go. The biggie for me is the black and chrome patern, it had to match my truck and it looks great. But on the other hand the only thing I dont like is how bright the lights are, after even a short 2 hr drive it started to give me a headache but I got modifications plans for that(I'm making it green instead of blue, it'll match better). How I use it? I use it talking on the radio. In places where you can't talk on the cell phone and drive or places you get stuck and hope someone with a CB Radio has a truck bigger than yours to pull you out. Rating I'd say 4.5 out of 5.

I have had this radio I guess close to a week now. I hooked it up the first day I got in conjunction with a K40 Magnet mount antenna. I did the calibration for the antenna with the built in SWR meter which was handy. Its my first CB Radio so I am still working on getting the delta tune and things like that just right so I can reach out and hear out the best possible. So far though I do not have a bad word to say about it really. It looks nice and works well. Word of advise though if you do a dash mount in your vehicle then consider a window shade when you are parked the chrome case gets very hot in the sun when as expected which could cause damage if it gets hot enough I imagine.. I was worried about the sun catching a reflection off the chrome case while I was driving and blinding me. Well it does catch the sun but its never hindered my driving. 5 stars from me. Service and shipping was good.
