You'd better permanently mount this to your vehicle. I had this antenna on my vehicle for a total of 20 minutes before it blew off the roof at only 40 mph and I've never seen it again. (Posted on October 17, 2012)

I bought two versions of this antenna a couple months ago; the 8" & 24". Neither one could be tuned to an SWR below 2. Both are fine for weather station reception but have less than a mile of line-of-sight CB reception.
