Model / SKU:JK Jeep Kit
Recommended for:JK Jeep owners who need a durable, long-lasting CB system that is quick and easy to install.
Radio:This kit is built around the President Bill II AM/FM CB Radio. The Bill II is ideal for Jeep and off-road vehicle owners who need an extremely compact CB unit, as all radio components are contained within the handset. Antenna attachment, power wiring and external speaker hookup all run through a small mounting box that can be tucked away for a clean installation. The radio includes NOAA weather, channel scanning, a 6-pin mic and "U" mounting bracket.
Antenna:

The kit provides two antenna options:

  • Firestik FS: The Firestik FS series is the most popular fiberglass CB antenna on the market today. It doesn't offer the flexibility of the Wilson Flex, but it does provide significantly better transmit and receive performance. Also, you can add a CB spring to the antenna and mount to provide limited flexibility if desired. If optimal range is most important, the Firestik FS antenna is a better choice than the Wilson Flex. The included Firestik FS antenna is Black.
  • Wilson Flex: On the trail, it's convenient to have an antenna that can survive getting snagged, bent, bowed and abused. Subsequently, we picked an antenna that can bend 180 degrees without breaking: the Wilson Flex. These 4' antennas provide superior protection against snapping and hold up well to the rigors of off-road use. While flexible, they don't offer the same level of transmit and receive performance that a traditional fiberglass antenna like the Firestik FS does. If flexibility is most important -- and long-range communication isn't crucial -- the Flex is a good choice.
Mounting Hardware:
Included in the kit is the JK spare tire mount from Teraflex. This mount attaches to the factory bolt holes on the Jeep's spare tire carrier and includes all necessary mounting hardware. Please see the link below for more mounting details.
Additional Information:

This kit also includes an external speaker and SWR meter.

  • External Speaker: The President Bill's small speaker can occasionally be difficult to hear, especially over the roar of a revving Jeep engine. That's why we include a compact external speaker to ensure clear communication in noisy environments. The speaker comes with a mounting bracket for easy installation anywhere in the vehicle cab. Note: Speaker may differ slightly from picture.
  • SWR Meter & Jumper: Every kit includes an SWR meter and coax jumper to tune your antenna for optimal performance. If you're not familiar with the tuning process, you can read why it's important and how to do it properly at the CB Resources page.

Great CB Radio Kit!

I had the radio and antenna package for my 2015 JK installed a few days ago by the place that I also purchase all my car audio gear from. The kit from Right Channel Radios has everything you need and their customer service is second to none. I selected the Firestik II antenna that mounts to the spare tire carrier and has plenty of clearance over the roof line. The radio handset mounts nicely just to the right of the steering column and the external speaker is nice and loud. The speaker is mounted in front of the gear shift and transfer case. Whether you install it yourself or have it professionally done, you can't go wrong with this.

GROUNDED !

Installed in my 2014 Jk for overlanding. Install went well, no major issues. Tuning was a bit of a chore due to differing instructions from included SWR meter manufacturer and Right Channels web site. The biggest thing I got out of it was MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A SOLID GROUND at the antenna. I had to take a grinder to the mounting area to expose bare metal. All in all, very happy with the results.

Perfect kit for a new user

This kit is perfect for an unlimited JK. You might think there's not enough cable but you have just enough. I even put a drip loop under my antenna mount. The SWR meter works fine and their install and tuning directions are great. Thank You!!!!!!

Review of JK Jeep CB Radio Kit

The package arrived on time and with everything I had ordered. The directions for the antenna mount were spot on. The directions for attaching and routing the cable were perfect. The directions for installing the CB radio were outdated. I drive a 2015 JK and the directions were written for an earlier model JK. I have been doing internet research trying to find something that is up to date. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be much to pull from. Each person who that installed the Cobra 75 on a JK seemingly made a different choice on where and how to install the remote box as well as how to power the unit. I appeal to the experts to update the install directions and add additional written detail and photos around where to install the remote box and how to power the unit.

Thanks for the review Robert. You're right that isn't a general consensus with Jeepers about where to mount the control box. I guess that's what makes them Jeepers ;). Please give us a call or email and we're happy to help you through the process of installing the Cobra 75 control box and finding a power source.
