NGP 3-Way Mount Kit - Firestik CB Antenna Kit

I was amazed on the ease of installation. Reading the installation tips was the key to a flawless install. This was my first purchase of a no ground plane product and was a little nervous at first but it works just fine. The feature I like the most was the ease of tuning the attenna with the screw type with lock nut design.
Tuning took less than 5 minutes. I rate this purchase and support with a 5 from a 1-5 scale with 5 being the best. I'm a very satisfied customer and next time I need any CB assessories RightChannelRadios will be my supplier of choice.

The firestick no ground plane system worked great for my application. I have
a jeep with a fiberglass top that didn't give me the results I needed with a
traditional antenia. This system is quick to set up and with a few minutes
on the SWR meter it dialed right in. On a scale of one to five I would give
it a five.

I just purchased the Firestik 4' NGP 3-Way Mount-Kit. I have had it on the truck for a couple of days now and it works GREAT!!! I had a problem with getting my SWR down due to poor ground plane and this antenna did the trick. So if you drive a truck for a living like I do and can't get a good ground on your truck, this antenna is the answer to the problem. My SWRs are 1.5 across the board and the radio sounds great. We have lived full-time on the road in our diesel motorcoach for nearly 13 years and routinely monitor and use channel 19, especially for obtaining road reports, traffic alerts and other pertinent information from truckers. In other words, for us CB communication is not a "toy", rather, it's an essential safety feature. The original (Midland) CB radio in our coach recently failed so we purchased a new radio and antenna from a Utah truckstop. We didn't even think of it at the time (and neither did they) but since our rig is mostly fiberglass the standard "ground plane required" antenna they sold us was worthless. After sleuthing the problem on our own we set about finding a "no ground plane CB antenna " (NGP) model.

The FireStix explanation and installation instructions were "okay" but not nearly so much so that we understood all we needed to so we took advantage of Right Channel's offer to access and download their much more detailed information pertaining to NGP CB antennas which we carefully read through a couple of times. Following those instructions we were able to install, tune (the very most important part!) and use the antenna with our new CB radio. All has been fine from that point on as we're back on the airwaves and are happy campers indeed.

I'm very pleased with the improved reception on my CB radio now that I have this Firestik NGP antenna on it. It's picking up what I estimate to be double what the old one did. I was also delighted to see the SWR drop from 3 to infinity on all channels (which rendered my CB unusable for safe transmission) to a next to ideal 2:1, 1:1 and 2:1 on 40, 20 and 1, because of the good ground plane the Firestik NGP antenna artificially generates. I'm actually using it as an indoor base antenna, which I thought was going to be virtually impossible with any regular vertical antenna because of a lack of space for standard counterpoises' ground planes in my crowded apartment. Great product.

This antenna is fantastic. The instant I turned my radio on after hooking it up, I was hearing people talk that minutes before on my old antenna, I wasn't hearing at all. If you have poor reception or transmission on your radio, this is the antenna you need in order to improve it. Tuning is also a breeze. Just turn the tip and your done.
