I haven't been into CB's for a while (80's). I have a Galaxy 2547 base station and I wanted to get a decent antenna. I remember in the 80's having a car antenna in my parents house attic :) - Worked but not optimal.

Almost all the reviews I read on this antenna were great. I got it, installed it on top of a home made 3 piece steel pipe mast cemented into the ground in a 2.5" pipe. I want to go one more section higher but it works well with the Galaxy. If the SWR meter on the galaxy is any near accurate it's near 1.0.

I'm not sure yet but I may order the ground plane kit.

Also, Right Channel Radios shipped it almost immediately and I got it along with my coax all in one package. I have and will continue to order from Right Channel Radios with service like this. :) (Posted on May 10, 2013)

I purchased this antenna with 100ft of RG8X coax cable from Right Channel Radios at the best price I have found so far on the internet. I am very pleased with the quality of this antenna. The SWR is perfect right out of the box and this antenna came with the connecting hardware to mount to my tower. I will order from Right Channel Radios again! (Posted on November 23, 2012)
