These Francis antennas come pre-tuned, so you're more likely to get great performance straight out of the box! While these antennas don't usually require tuning, it's important to test SWR to ensure safe operation levels. Lack of a ground plane or other issues unrelated to antenna length can cause high SWR levels and may potentially damage radio equipment if not corrected.

    Just purchased the Francis 8 ft. whip. I Installed it on my pickup. I had extremely low SWR with no tuning whatsoever. My Cobra 148 GTL has never worked better. (Posted on May 4, 2013)
