CB Radio Equipment for Pickup Trucks

What You Should Know:

Equipment Considerations: Pick-up trucks offer a LOT of flexibility! Because they have ample cab room, full-sized radios like the Cobra 29 are popular choices. Magnetic antennas are often used, but fiberglass installations are the most popular due show more...
to their durability and mounting versatility. Dual fiberglass antenna installations are also very popular and offer increased range over single antenna installs.

Mounting Locations: The two most popular mounting locations for pick-ups are along the hood channel and on the bedrail/toolbox directly behind the cab. If mounting behind the cab, make sure to pick a length that allows for at least half of the antenna to be above the roofline to ensure acceptable performance. For best possible performance, we recommend mounting an antenna (magnetic or fiberglass) directly in the center of the roof -- the highest and most centrally located spot. (Hide Information)

  1. Firestik FireRing RG-59 CB Coax FME

Firestik FireRing CB Coax for Dual Antennas - 18'

    $44.95

Achieve a low-profile, weather-resistant coax setup that's easy to install with this Firestik FireRing kit for dual antennas! The ring-style connections are perfectly suited for low-profile and tight installations, as they extend horizontally -- not vertically -- from the mounting surface. They're also significantly more weather-resistant than standard threaded PL-259 connections, which are built primarily from rust-prone metal. The FME (For Mobile Equipment) ends allows the PL-259s to unscrew, making installation, drilling and cable routing MUCH simpler, as the cable head diamater is reduced from 3/4" to 3/8". Built from RG-59 coax, the cable is 95% shielded for improved signal performance and uses a stranded center for increased durability. The coax is 18' long and includes two extra-long stud bolts to ensure compatibility with any CB stud. Learn More
