Terraflex w/ spring and disconnect is a winning combination!

Mounted to my 2012 Jeep Wrangler 4-door JK. Be sure to remove the powder coat on the bottom side of the antenna mount and where it bolts to the JK or else you won't get a good ground plane. Once I removed the powder coat and tuned my radio with my SWR meter I got 1.01 on channel 40 and 1.02 on channel 1. Very good indeed! Oh, and be sure to use the heavy duty spring and quick disconnect to get tire clearance and ease of use. (Posted on May 16, 2012)

Easy to install

After receiving the stud, the install was simple. I liked the mount very much. The 3ft Firestik put the end of the antenna enough above the roof line. I found that removing the vent behind the spare tire mount made installing the coax much easier. I rate all components with a 4.

Great Solid Mount

This mount is a beast! High quality construction! Just as a note for installation; if you have the AEV Rear Offroad Bumper and Tire Carrier installed on your JK, you will have to modify this mount to get your tailgate to close properly. The mount causes interference with the vertical metal tubing that comes up from the tire carrier. That being said, it only takes a little bit of trimming and you are good to go. I have standard tires and the bracket is not formed correctly to allow the antenna to clear the tire. I would not reccommend this until it is at least formed so that the antenna will not rub the tire. (Posted on April 3, 2012)

Bad experience

I never had a good experience with this mount. I like the looks of it but I have not been able to get an SWR below 1.7. I removed the powder coating and ran a ground wire to the frame of my Jeep but still cannot speak to anyone on my new Cobra CB that I bought here from Right Channel Radios. Very frustrated and very difficult to get support from Right Channel Radios. I've spent over $200.00 on the Cobra kit and have wasted a lot of time just trying to get everything to work right. I do not recommend this mount. I just ordered a different hood mount and will try a new mount location. (Posted on March 7, 2013)
