When used in this manner, there's no need to drill holes in the vehicle or mirror arm. This mount can also be bolted to any flat surface by removing the clamp. Firestik CB Antenna Mount: These stainless steel mounts were specifically designed to mount antennas on the side mirror arms commonly found on pickup trucks. When used in this manner, there's no need to drill any holes in the vehicle or mirror arm. The upper bracket is 4.6" (117mm) long by 1" (25mm) wide. The distance between the stainless steel clamping bolts (supplied) allows the mount to span material up to 1.4" (36mm) wide. If the lower clamp is omitted, the upper bracket will also serve as a flat mount for installations with a horizontal surface. For general use, we recommend using these brackets with antennas up to 4' (1.2m) tall.

I got this mount to clamp onto the mirror bracket on my Bronco II, and it works perfectly. I had figured on putting it on the driver's side, but with 18 feet of coax, I mounted the Firestik antenna on the passenger side, and it doesn't cut down visibility, and something I hadn't considered was the bit of wind noise when the window is down. Putting it over on the passenger door kept that much noise farther away so it isn't bothersome at highway speed with the windows open. All in all, it turned out to be a good choice for a simple, no-holes installation. (Posted on September 6, 2012)
