This through-the-glass CB antenna kit has a low profile, resembles a cellular booster antenna and is incredibly easy to install. However, its small size is the trade-off for an extremely limited range. The small wire whip should provide enough range to communicate with the friends you're caravanning with 50 yards away, but not much more.
