CB Coax Cable

What You Should Know:

Type: There are three types of coax: RG58, RG8X and RG59. RG58 is the most common and affordable type of coax. It's used for mobile CB applications and can be a good choice if a quality brand like Firestik is selected. RG8X Show More...
(sometimes called Mini-8) is the premium grade of CB coax. It's better shielded, usually has hand-soldered ends, is and generally a bit beefier. RG59 coax MUST be used for dual antenna installations. If you try to use standard RG58 or RG8X coax on a dual antenna installation, you will run into severe performance problems.

Length: You'll notice that most of our coax is 18' long, as this length is more resistant to performance and installations problems. Although this is not a hard-and-fast rule, in the best interest of our customers, we do recommend it. For more information on coax cable, including why we recommend 18' lengths, please see Firestik's informative CB Coax Guide.

  2. RG-58 CB Coax Coaxial

    RG58 CB Coax Cable - 9' or 18'

    $9.95

This RG-58 CB coax is an affordable choice for basic CB installations. The outer shield layer is rated at 90% and helps reduce signal leakage and interference. Dual molded PL-259 connections allow you to connect a CB radio to any stud mount that accepts a PL-259-style coax connection. If your budget allows, we recommend upgrading to Firestik or RG8X coax cable that will provide less signal loss (resulting in better range) and will hold up better over time. Learn More
  3. RG-8X CB Coaxial Cable PL-259

    Premium RG8X CB Coax - 9' or 18'

    $14.95

RG8X coax is a step up from standard RG-58 coaxial and is recommended for high-powered applications or users who simply want the best coax possible. A 95%+ shielding rating prevents signal leak and outside interference, resulting in longer transmission range and a clearer signal. The cable's hand-soldered, quality PL-259 ends are less likely to break or short than molded ends. Constructed a bit thicker than standard RG-58 cable, RG8X is recommended for situations where the coax may see higher-than-average wear or when a stouter cable is desired. If you want the best, the RG8X CB coax is your choice. Learn More
  4. Firestik K8A CB Coax Cable

Firestik CB Coax Cable - 18'

    $19.95

Firestik CB coax is an excellent quality choice for general CB installations. The RG-58 coax cable has a 95%+ shielding rating, which reduces signal loss and improves your effective transmission range. The beefy Wilson RG-8X cable boasts 95%+ shielding for improved signal performance and high-quality, hand-soldered amphenol PL-259 ends. But what really sets it apart are the weather boot and FME (for mobile equipment) connector. The exterior PL-259 connection includes a rubber boot to protect from water and ensure longevity. The FME end allows the radio-side PL-259 to unscrew, making installation and cable routing MUCH simpler, reducing the cable head diamater from 0.75" to 0.30". If you need a high-quality, durable and versatile coaxial, we recommend this CB coax from Wilson. Learn More
