Quick Overview

Originally created by Bandi of FJCruiserForums.com, the Bandi Mount has become one of the most popular ways to mount a CB antenna to 2007 and newer Toyota FJ Cruisers. The mount requires no drilling, and installation is fast and simple: The mount bolts onto the existing rear door hinge. Installing a CB antenna on your FJ couldn't be easier! Please note that this mount does not include a CB antenna stud, so you'll need to purchase the stud separately.

Additional Information

Model / SKU: Bandi Mount
Recommended for: Achieving a clean, factory-style install on 2007 and newer Toyota FJ Cruisers. We recommend using a ring-style coax cable with the Bandi Mount, as its smaller profile works best in the confined underside of the mount.
Compatible with: All 2007 and newer FJ Cruisers. Once combined with an antenna stud, the mount will support all fiberglass and center-load antennas that use a standard 3/8" x 24 threaded base.
Installation Notes: We recommend using the Fire-Stik FireRing coax cable with this mount, as its smaller profile works best in the confined underside of the mount. Also, the mount is powder coated to prevent it from grounding. You'll need to scrape off some of the powder coating where the mount touches both the frame and the antenna stud in order to achieve a proper ground for your antenna. Failure to do so will prevent your CB antenna from functioning properly and will likely result in high SWR. For Bandi's complete installation instructions and additional details, please visit the Bandi Mount Installation Thread.

Great invention; Needs slight improvement

I have been installing two way radios for years. This mount is a fantastic way to avoid drilling holes in the FJ but could use a couple of improvements:

1) Have the antenna mount hole be centered on the mount as this will allow users to easily drill out the existing CB mount hole to accommodate commercial and ham radio antennas that require NMO style mounts (3/4" hole), and UHF style mounts (5/8" hole). The one I had the hole was drilled off center and although I was able to drill a 5/8" hole for my ham antenna, the base of the antenna sits off the mounting flange slightly. Would look more "natural or aesthetically finished" if it were centered.

2) Make the flat mounting surface be broad enough to accommodate a 3/4" NMO style antenna.

3) Simply offer the mount with different pre-drilled hole diameters (CB, NMO, UHF) (Posted on May 2, 2012)

Great Product!

Great product. Just one idea, make the stud a flush mount bolt with an allen head instead of a welded stud. It would make it a lot easier to tighten.

Easy to install and well made!

The Bandi antenna mount for my FJ Cruiser was extremely easy to install and is very well made. I am completely satisfied with this product.

I used this mount for my Ham HF/VHF/UHF Yaseu ATAS 100 screwdriver antenna. It uses an M type mount, so I had to open up the hole slightly. I used a Diamond K400S coax which is very low profile and thin making the routing of the coax a breeze.

If you ever want to improve this product, it would be nice if the mount would swivel to the right allowing the antenna to lower behind the spare tire. This would make it easier to go in and out of the garage with my 5-foot antenna.

Again, thank you for a well made product. (Posted on December 30, 2011)
